How to Use the MakerSpace Facilities and Services: Virtual Reality

  1.  First-time users MUST undertake a basic training and pass the Safety Test.
  2. There is no charge to use VR equipment provided by the MakerSpace. Users are responsible for any damages of the furniture and equipment in the MakerSpace.
  3. Unless otherwise approved by the University Librarian, the equipment and facilities are used by eligible users for educational and non-commercial proposes ONLY.

HTC Vive Pro

Description: A virtual reality head-mounted display (HMD)

Eligible UsersCUHK students and staff

Borrowing Method: check out and return at the Learning Garden HelpDesk during 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. A maximum of 4 hours per day. (Overdue Fines: HK$10 per day)

Full set includes: HTC Vive Head Mounted Display (HMD), HTC Vive Controllers, Motion Sensor

Oculus Quest

Description: An all-in-one virtual reality head-mounted display which does not need a computer to play with 

Eligible UsersCUHK students and staff

  • Battery: Lithium-ion battery with 2-3 hours playtime, depending on what you are playing

L-Shaped Immersive Virtual Reality CAVE

The L-Shaped Immersive Virtual Reality CAVE will be available in service in October 2019

Virtual Reality CAVE

Description: The L-shaped Immersive Virtual Reality CAVE is a VR + AR + MR platform for learning and teaching. It allows multi-users, up to 30 people, to immerse in and interact with VR with face to face communication.

Eligible UsersCUHK staff can make a reservation for using this platform for teaching and learning purposes.

Applications:
