How to Use the MakerSpace Facilities and Services: 3D Scanners

  1. There is no charge to use 3D scanners provided by the MakerSpace. Users are responsible for any damages of the furniture and equipment in the MakerSpace.
  2. Unless otherwise approved by the University Librarian, the 3D scanners are used by eligible users for educational and non-commercial purposes ONLY.
  3. Users are responsible for any damages to the furniture and equipment in the MakerSpace.
  4. Users should comply with copyright, patent, and other intellectual policy regulations, which do include specific exceptions for fair use. CUHK Library staff reserves the right to refuse any usage request. 

iPad Pro for 3D Scanning

Description: An easy-to-use iPad Pro with various 3D scanning applications.

Eligible UsersCUHK students and staff

Borrowing Method: check out and return at the Learning Garden HelpDesk during 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. It can be loaned for up to 3 days. (Overdue Fines: HK$10 per day)

Camera: 12 million pixels wide camera

Sensor: LiDAR Sensor

TrueDepth Camera: 12 million pixels ultra wide camera

Output file format: .OBJ (can be sent via email)
