Open Science: F1000Research

What is F1000Research?

F1000Research is a publishing platform for articles and other research outputs, offering rapid publishing and open peer review. Submitted manuscripts will undergo a quick pre-publication check by the in-house editorial team to make sure that manuscripts comply with the ethical, editorial, and data policies. Once the manuscripts are checked, they are immediately made publicly available on the platform under a creative commons license even before the peer-review process. Each peer review report, the approval status, reviewer names, and affiliations will be published together with an article. Approved articles by reviewers will be indexed in bibliographic databases.

Why F1000Research?

Speed

  • Manuscripts are published open access before the peer review process. Authors can get their research outputs immediately published.

Transparency

  • Authors recommend peer reviewers to F1000Research. The review comments are published together with an article. Open peer review is claimed to be able to avoid bias and foster scientific discussions.

All findings are published

  • Negative results are also published in order to avoid duplicated efforts by a research community working on the same problem.

Open Data

  • Data underlying an article are made available for sharing, reproducibility, and replicability.

How to Publish?

Publishing with F1000Research requires an article process charge (APC). The APC is payable once a manuscript passes the pre-publication checks and gets published. For details, please refer HERE.
