Biography: I specialize in language acquisition, heritage languages, multilingualism, language processing, and psycholinguistics. I have a strong interdisciplinary background with experience in corpus studies, translation and interpretation, and Asian languages like Tagalog, Cantonese, and Hong Kong Sign Language. My strong intercultural competencies enhance my understanding of individuals and societies. I aim to serve the entire Faculty of Arts, fostering effective communication and embracing interdisciplinary collaboration.
On my off-time, I enjoy weightlifting, listening to music, eating to my heart’s content, and exploring the many intangible cultural heritages around the world.

Biography: My research is at the interface of microbiology, bioinformatics and computational biology. I develop and apply computational approaches to answer interesting questions in microbial genomics and evolution mainly using public data. This will provide insights into understanding host-microbe interaction and clues to treating infectious diseases. I have also been actively involved in promoting open science and data sharing in research. My hobbies include Go and table tennis.

Biography: Provides Ng is an architecture designer and researcher. Her work stands at the convergence of cybernetics theory, immersive technology, decentralisation, and participatory design. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Her academic experiences include Lecturer at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), Managing Editor of the Bartlett Prospectives Journal (ML Cover), Researcher at the Strelka Institute Moscow and more. Provides is an alumnus of the Städelschule Architecture Class (SAC) Germany, and co-founder of international R&D collectives that apply artificial intelligence (AI) to 3D production and bio-design: Current.cam and R.E.Ar_.

Biography: Dan is a Filipino research postgraduate student taking PhD in Psychology at the Department of Psychology. His research focuses on the mental health of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong and their access to mental health programs and services. He also does research on environmental psychology. He is a registered clinical psychologist in the Philippines.
