Getting around CUHK campus

Stretching 137.3 hectare on a steep hill slope, the CUHK has the largest and most beautiful university campus in Hong Kong.

The whole campus can be losely divided in 3 levels or 5 major zones according both to their elevation from the sea-level and by the distance from the train station.  While most Year 1 classes are conducted near the train station to give time to new students to familiarize with the surroundings, classes for second year and up will usually be scattered around campus depending on the subject you are taking. There are 9 colleges in CUHK, and each undergraduate student can affiliate themselves to one of them during their time in the university.

While most students access the campus by MTR (Mass transit Railway) located near the Chung Chi College campus and get to their classrooms either by catching campus shuttle buses next to the train station or on foot , students of CUHK will tell you that the main entrance of the University is actually located on Tai Po Road up on the central campus.

To be familiar with the campus shuttle bus route and the campus map, new students usually download and install the CUHK Mobile application (iOS/Andriod). It provide students with University's latest news, Library opening hours and access to online Library services, Shuttle Bus Schedules and CUHK Map with building names, which is a handy tool for new students.
